The Jones County Treasurer’s Office is seeking a highly detail-oriented, motivated individual for a challenging, fast-paced Motor Vehicle Deputy position. This role requires accuracy, efficiency, and the ability to thrive in a busy public office setting.
The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills while maintaining professionalism and composure during high-volume, stressful, and frequently interrupted situations. Daily interaction with the public requires patience, sound judgment, and the ability to clearly explain complex laws and procedures.
Primary duties include processing motor vehicle titles, registrations, and official documents in strict compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The ideal candidate must quickly learn and retain detailed information and apply it with a high degree of precision and accountability. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task are essential. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.

Seasonal Conservation Aide
Full-Time · Posted December 22, 2025This seasonal position will assist with all aspects of development and maintenance of county wildlife areas, parks, preserves, campground, and trails. Work is based out of Central Park and its recreational amenities, along with habitat management within outlying conservation and public hunting areas.
3 month, 6 month and 9 month positions available May - February (start and end dates are negotiable).
40 hours/week. Typical work week Monday-Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM. Some weekends, evening hours and holidays are required. May be required to work in all types of inclement weather.
Summer Naturalist Intern - Summer 2026
Temporary · Posted December 22, 2025Assist the Jones County Naturalist in conducting environmental education programming and staffing the Central Park Nature Center. Gain valuable practical experience in program development and implementation, leadership, and habitat management. The Naturalist Intern is responsible for the development and presentation of educational programs and projects that promote conservation ethics, environmental education and natural resource appreciation of County Parks, facilities, and properties. The naturalist intern may assume assigned tasks of increasing responsibility.
