Job Duties
The goal of the position is to assist Veterans and their dependents in filing for state, local and federal benefits. This position employee must have excellent administrative, communication, personal, technical, detail and organizational skills.
This is a department of one and the person must be able to work independently and with other CVSOs, departments and resources within Jones County and the state of Iowa.
Job Qualifications
Position requires a current valid driver’s license as well as the ability to obtain the National Association of County Veteran Service Officers (NACVSO) accreditation within one year of hire, must complete annual continuing educations requirements of NACVSO and other (cross accreditations).
Also, application of a VA Security Clearance of Confidential by the Office of Personnel Management for access to VA systems and obtain Personal Identity Verification Card (PIV) for secure access to federal computer and network systems.

Additional Information
Starting wage $20-$24 per hour based on experience. Excellent benefits included.
