Family Fishing Friday - Beginning Bluegill Fishing!

Bring your family to Central Park at 8 AM on Friday, June 2nd to learn the Basics of Bluegill Fishing. Bring your own fishing gear or borrow some of ours to try your new skills at catching bluegills at Central Park Lake. Iowa Fishing Rules and Regulations apply. This event coincides with the IDNR Free Fishing weekend - no license required. Bait provided. Please register for this session by visiting by clicking here and completing the registration information. This family program is intended for families to attend together not for unaccompanied children.

Basic fishing equipment is available for check-out at the Central Park Nature Center. Bring your own bait.
Central Park Nature Center Summer 2023 Monthly Nature Center Themes are free, come and go events. Educational exhibits, displays, crafts, and activities change monthly. Nature Center Hours include Saturdays and Sundays, Memorial Day through Labor Day Weekend. The Nature Center is also open during the work week from 8 AM - 4:30 PM, when staff are present.
