NEW 2023 Groundwater Hazard Process Affecting Real Estate Transactions

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources' rule changes to the Iowa Administrative Code section 558.69 to align groundwater hazard statements with current legislation will be effective February 15, 2023.
NOTE: Applicable real estate transactions must continue to use the current groundwater hazard statement form until the new form becomes active on Feb. 15, 2023.
All transfer documents requiring a groundwater hazard statement recorded on Feb. 15, 2023, or after, will be required to have the new form. Use of the old form dated 7/18/2012 will not be accepted.
