Know the area you are hiking - Both public and private - Is hunting allowed there or in surrounding areas?
Be Seen! Wear Hunter Orange (hat, vest, or pack cover)
Keep pets visible
Stay on marked trails
Hike during daylight hours
Avoid hiking in hunting areas around sunrise and sunset
