Road Closures & Construction

View a map of current closing and construction projects

Purpose

The Jones County Secondary Road Department closes and restricts traffic on roads during road projects, extreme weather events, etc. Our department sends out notifications to the public safety agencies so that they can adjust in the event of an emergency.  (See below for current closures and proposed construction project schedules and location maps.)

Five Year Construction Program

All physical assets, such as bridges, culverts, embankments, paving and traffic controls, continually deteriorate, requiring that a certain percentage thereof be renewed every year.  To accomplish this the Jones County Engineer's Office develops programs of work.  Here is the program of assets to be replaced/rehabilitated over the next five years.
