Mon Maq Dam
Located one mile northeast of Monticello along the Maquoketa River, this access includes 44 acres of riverine habitat.
Extreme caution should be taken near the Mon Maq Dam. People should not venture over, on, or close to the dam structures, or they will risk drowning.
Interpretive signage and a viewing platform can be found at the location of the old mill site. The Mon Maq Dam area is part of the Maquoketa River Water Trail.

Head north out of downtown Monticello on old Hwy 151. Turn right onto River Road immediately after crossing the Maquoketa River bridge. The Mon Maq Dam Area will be on your right-hand side. Parking and a turnaround area are available.
