Camping Season Underway!

Camping season at Central Park, in Jones County, is underway!  

Central Park, in the center of Jones County, is a hidden jewel to many!  With primitive to fully modern campsites and a few primitive rental cabins Central Park has something for almost everyone.  Click here to learn more about Central Park.    

Central Park campground is first come, first serve with self -registration envelopes found within the campground areas at informational kiosks.  (No reservations for campsites.)  Camping units must be onsite when you register.  Have simple questions? Check out information at the registration kiosks, visit the JCCB Website, or stop by the Campground Hosts site to speak with Dan and Mary.   

Central Park is a destination for fishing, hiking, kayaking, and picnicking fun.  A swim at your own risk swimming area and beach are open from Memorial Day through Labor Day Weekend.   Kayak and paddleboat rentals, available through the campground hosts, Thursday - Sunday, are also available during the summer season.  Bring your own sand volleyball and enjoy a game with friends at the sand volleyball area near the south side open air shelter.

Families love the Jones County Wild For Reading StoryWalk® Trail, have fun at the Central Park Playground areas, and learn lots at the Central Park Nature Center (Open weekends during the Summer - Saturday and Sunday, 1-5 PM, Memorial Day through Labor  Day Weekend and during the week when staff are present.)   

Like to hike?  Miles of nature trails offer exploration and discovery at every turn!
