Ice Fishing Conditions on 1/11/21 at Central Park Lake

Central Park lake:

Lake is fully frozen over.  3.5- 8 inches ice overall with some areas of 10.5 inches of ice.

There is 2+ inches of snow/re-freeze on top of good ice in most areas.

4-6 ½ inch bluegill and Bass 10-13 inches being caught. All fish seem to be holding

to bottom. Reminder- only Bass 15 inches or larger may be kept.

 

West Pond:

4-8 inches of ice overall with 2+ inches of snow/refreeze on top of good ice

Bluegill and Bass being caught in multiple year classes. Again, fish seem to be holding to bottom.

Reminder- only Bass 15 inches or larger may be kept.

If your have not renewed your fishing license for 2021 season, now is the time to do it.

Check the weekly DNR fishing report for ice conditions across Iowa.  The DNR recommends at a minimum, four inches of clear blue ice for fishing.
